Why get a facial and what is included:
A facial is essentially a multi-step skin treatment that is one of the best ways to take care of your skin. A facial cleanses, exfoliates, and nourishes the skin, promoting a clear, well-hydrated complexion and can help your skin look younger. Some of the benefits of having a facial are reducing stress, cleansing and toning the skin, treating problem area (lines, wrinkles, and acne), and reduced the signs of time and aging by rejuvenating the skin.
Facial massage promotes blood circulation which leaves the skin toned and rejuvenated. Facials also help detoxify the skin. If you have whiteheads or blackheads, they can be extracted for you leaving your skin clean and clear.

Step 2 – Cleanse
What is a cleanser?
- A cleanser is basically a face wash that will remove your makeup and dirt from the face so we have a blank canvas to work with.
- Products used are Dermalogica, IS Clinical, and Murad.
Why do we cleanse the skin?
We use two cleansers to remove dirt and makeup and to prepare the skin for treatment and masks.
Step 3 – Consultation
The first step of the consultation is to cover your eyes with moistened pads and to use a magnifying lamp to see what kind of skin type you are and to address the skin and its needs.

Step 4 – Exfoliation
Why do we exfoliate?
Exfoliating is the next step of cleansing, however, it is a deeper cleanse. We exfoliate the skin to remove all the dead skin cells. We can use brushes and/or manly cleanse the face with different scrubs. We use products that have enzymes in them like papaya. Using a scrub to exfoliate your face cleans and unclogs your pores, which in turn can prevent you from getting pimples. That’s because clogged pores trap oil under your skin’s surface, which leads to acne breakouts.
Products we use:
- Scrubs
- Peel Masks
- Exfoliation Massage
Step 5 – Extraction
What are extractions?
An extraction is a process of clearing a clogged or by manual or mechanical means. Extractions are often performed as part of a facial. Some people need at least a couple of extractions during each facial, though you may require more extractions if this is your first facial, depending on the condition of your skin.
When to get Extractions?
After steaming the most crucial component to safe and effective extractions is proper skin prep. Steam must be used before the extraction process to heat the skin and melt the debris inside the pore down to the consistency of soft butter. Then, during the extraction, it’s important to keep the skin moist. After steaming, a thick moisturizer is often applied to retain the heat and make debris easier to remove. If the skin isn’t kept moist and warm, it will tighten up, and (the debris) will be hard to take out. Extractions are best performed by professionals, as doing it yourself results in picking and squeezing that can damage the skin.
Step 6 – Facial Massage
What does Facial Massage do for your skin?
Facial massage is often considered an anti-aging treatment as it can help keep the skin looking young, smooth, and firm.
5 Benefits:
- 1-Relieves stress
- 2-Relieves tension
- 3-Increase Blood flow
- 4-Relieves tense muscles
- 5- Decrease fine lines
Why Facial Massage is Important:
Facial massage stimulates the circulation of the blood towards the skin and stimulates cell growth. It helps in the prevention of fine lines and new wrinkle formation, while at the same time helps in tightening the skin and making it nice and elastic again.
By increasing blood circulation and oxygen flow to the facial muscles and skin, the face is less likely to fall into deep wrinkles or show signs of physical and/or emotional stress. Facial massage also encourages the development of collagen. Collagen is the support system that keeps the skin firm, supple and elastic.
Step 7 – Moisturize and Protect
Why do we moisturize the skin?
Moisturizing helps your skin stay young. The most sensitive areas of your skin – the face, ears, neck, and chest – replace themselves more often than any other area on your skin. Moisturizing can help give your sensitive skin the boost it needs to repair itself and stay healthy.
The stratum corneum is made up of fat, oil, and skin cells that help keep moisture in the skin. Applying a moisturizer to your face can increase the moisture level of the stratum corneum, prevent skin from drying out and causing wrinkles.
If the moisturizer contains sunscreen, it will protect against sun damage and sunspots.
Step 8 – Sunscreen
Protecting with Sunscreen:
Sun damage builds up over time. It is important to use sunscreen every day, even if it is cloudy. Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB radiation.
Use a lip balm or lipstick that contains sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. Apply sunscreen 15 to 30 minutes before going outdoors. Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours.
Dermaplane:
We remove dead skin cells and fine vellus hairs, a fancy name for peach fuzz using a medical grade blade. Dermaplaning is a great alternative to a chemical peel or microdermabrasion,
It improves skin quality and reduces wrinkles. By removing the top layer of dead skin cells, dermaplaning prevents these cells from getting trapped inside your pores. By gently exfoliating the skin, dermaplaning also makes it easier for serums to penetrate into the pores.
Eyebrow Tinting and Waxing:
- Waxing is the process of hair removal from the root by using wax, to adhere to body hair, and then removing this covering and pulling out the hair from the follicle. New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for two to six weeks, although some people will start to see regrowth in only a week due to some of their hair being on a different human hair growth cycle. Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face.
- Eyebrow tinting is the process of applying semi-permanent dye to enhance, shape, and define your brows. “It gives the appearance of thicker, more youthful looking brows,” An average session takes only about 15-20 minutes. The dye is mixed and carefully applied, first in the direction of how your brow hairs grow and then a second layer is applied in the opposite direction. The dye is left on for a few minutes to attain optimal color, then any excess is removed with a damp paper towel. Don’t freak out if you see dye on the skin underneath your brows: that will wash away after a day or two. Leaving them beautiful & natural looking.
Back Facial:
Skin care shouldn’t be limited to your face and neck—your back surely deserves some pampering, too! With summer only a few short months away, you’re likely getting ready to show off some more skin at the beach. Our backs, in particular, can be an area of skin distress like acne, dryness and irritation. We need to give our back the same attention we give our face and neck, especially with Spring upon us and Summer right around the corner.
Back facials, are a way to deep cleanse the Back area. The facial typically begins with a gentle steaming to open pores and lift impurities, followed by a deep cleansing and exfoliation. The facial for back concludes with a therapeutic mask; some spas also offer a relaxing neck, back, and shoulder massage.
